nTelos Announces Annual Pass-for-Cash Winners

December 5, 2011

Virginia-based nTelos Wireless announced today the winners of the 2011 Pass-for-Cash contests, which took place at James Madison University, Virginia Tech and the University of Richmond. Six winning contestants took home a total of $16,500 along with trips for two to Chicago, Miami, Minneapolis, and Phoenix.

More than 9,000 fans registered at home football games or on-line for a chance to participate in the annual Pass-For-Cash contests. Two winners from each participating university were selected in a random drawing to Pass-For-Cash. During halftime of the last home game, selected contestants tossed two regulation size footballs at a target placed 10-yards away. The first ball determined destination, and contestants threw at a “nationwide coverage” map. The football landing near the closest city determined where the contestant would go via two round-trip tickets. The second football toss determined a cash amount, and anyone hitting the bull’s eye could win $5,000.

2011 Pass-For-Cash winners, prizes, and dates included:
James Madison University- Nov. 12

  • Davis Harris from Troutville won a trip to Miami and $2,500
  • Paul Smith from Henrico won a trip to Phoenix and $1,500

Plus, they win great prizes!” said Conrad Hunter Chief Operating Officer of nTelos Wireless. “Thousands of people attend each game and cheer the lucky participants. The universities are very supportive, and we look forward to continuing to grow our partnerships and use the sponsorships as a way to communicate our outstanding wireless value and at the same time support local Mid-Atlantic economies.”
